Pharmadule, a division of Pharmadule Emtunga AB, has signed a contract with Excelvision AG for the delivery of a modular facility for the manufacturing of Ophthalmic Products. Excelvision is a major contract manufacturer in Europe and part of the Fareva Group in France. The project is an extension of an existing plant in Hettlingen, Switzerland, acquired by Excelvision in 2004, including both new construction and upgrading of the existing facility. Pharmadule’s scope comprises design, fabrication and validation of the two-story facility extension with a total size of approx. 720 sqm. Pharmadule’s modular concept allows 90% of the construction to be completed in Pharmadule’s workshop resulting in a very high and predictable quality and a short delivery schedule. The facility includes areas and equipment for product preparation and filling operations, as well as HVAC and utility areas. The facility will be delivered to Excelvision’s site for installation, qualification and hand over to the client by the end of 2007. The total project value amounts to €7 million.
Pharmadule’s total undertaking, the rapid project execution and the long experience from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries were key to Excelvision’s decision to select Pharmadule as the supplier of their new production facility.
